Marketing is a fun field to be in, of that there can be no doubt, but it is also a field that is very competitive. The marketing jobs in the world today are the same kinds of jobs that people have been utilizing for years; the only difference is the method and the location that those marketing jobs are targeting. There are marketing jobs for making commercials as well as marketing jobs for copywriting advertisements in newspapers and other places. Of course, there are a number of marketing jobs available around the internet today and when one considers those jobs that are available on the internet, they form a large percentage of the jobs available in the marketing industry today. The internet has changed the way people look at marketing forever.

Skills Required

There are many different skills required when it comes to marketing jobs and the biggest of those skills has to do with something called the pre-sell. If you are reading something that is an advertisement and you don’t even know that it’s an advertisement, the person that wrote that ad is doing the pre-sell. The idea behind the pre-sell is to talk about something general that might actually interest your customer, rather than the product itself. If you are pre-selling online, what you would want to do is include relevant links within the content so that when your customer actually clicks on a link, they are being taken to a site with a product that they are actually interested in buying. Having the ability to pre-sell is very important in marketing.

Education Required

There are many routes to getting the education necessary for marketing jobs, but nothing beats the good old University degree in marketing. Nothing else will show your theoretical knowledge better than that and therefore nothing else matters.
