How to Clean a Computer Keyboard

Let me start out by saying it doesn't take a rocket scientist to clean a keyboard. Anyone is capable to clean their own keyboards. For your supplies you're going to need a can of air (3$ a wal-mart) and a moist (not soaked) rag or paper towel. Start by spraying the air into the keyboard. Start on one side of the keyboard and work your way to the other site of the keyboard. This will get the dust, hair, dander, food and what ever else is in your keyboard out. If the air can starts to spray out a wet substance quit spraying and just let the can sit for a minute and continue the process. This happens when the can isn't being sprayed upright. Don't worry though it won’t harm your keyboard at all if it does spray. After you're done with that you can do one of two things. You can take your moist rag and just wipe down the keyboard or you can pop all the keys off and clean them one by one really good. I would just wipe them down with the rag unless your keyboard is really dirty or your keys are sticking. If you want to pop off the keys you will need something strong enough to pop them off. I like to use the handle on a pair of fingernail clippers. Take the handle and place it under a key and push it down prying the key upward. Don't be afraid to use some force and the key should just pop right off. Make sure when you take the keys off you keep them on order. This makes it a lot easier to put back together. When all the keys are out clean the keyboard with the rag and let it dry. Then put your keys back in by simply putting them in the right spot and pushing it down just like you would if you were typing. Once all the keys are back in you're done with the task of cleaning your keyboard.
