How to Buy a Laptop Computer

Buying a laptop computer is easy for some but really hard for others. If you're picking a laptop on how it looks then you're probably going to be able to pick one out in no time. If you want something that is powerful, good looking, bright and so on you're going to have a hard time. Hopefully this article helps you with your difficult decision.

First thing to think about when buying a laptop is, what are you buying the laptop for? If you're buying a laptop to surf the net read emails and listen to some music then go ahead and buy any laptop you want. Laptops now a days come with more then enough power to do all the basics with blazing speeds. So just look for something cheap because you don't need anything major for what you want to do with it.

If you plan to edit images, make movies, upload pictures, play games and so on then you’re going to need a more powerful laptop. If you fall into this category then this article is for you. First thing to look at when buying a laptop is the hard drive space. Most laptops come with smaller hard drives so this plays a huge factor. You want a hard drive to be at least 40 GB I would recommend 60 GB or higher though. This should give you more then enough room to have quite a few games and images on your laptop with room to spare. Another big thing to look at is memory. Memory is not the same as a hard drive, a lot of people get them mixed up. I wouldn't purchase a laptop with anything under 1GB of memory. The problem with low memory is if you open a couple programs you will see a huge performance drop. As for processors I would choose a computer with a dual core processor. It's not really needed but it's a nice added bonus. It's like having two processors in your computer hence the dual core.

The most important factor would have to be the price. For an awesome laptop I wouldn't pay more then 1300$ tops. Don't think that just because the laptop is 2000$ it has to be the best. That 2000$ laptop probably has the same specs as the 1300$ laptop. I would start by looking at Dell.com. They sell all their computers in-house, meaning they don't sell them in any stores but their own. This eliminates the middle man who usually raises the price to make a profit. My final tip is don't purchase something on the spot. Take a few days and look around all the stores or online. This could end up saving you hundreds of dollars.
