History

Delta can be traced back as far as 1924 attaching itself to the world's first crop dusting foundation. The foundation was known as Huff Daland Dusters. The company was named Delta Air Service in 1928. A route that took the first passenger flight from Dallas, TX to Jackson, MS, via Shreveport and Monroe, LA. took place in 1929. The headquarters for Delta was located in Monroe that later was moved to Atlanta, Ga in 1941.

Following the move to Atlanta investments and innovations began to make Delta what it is today, one of the most profitable and desired airlines in the world. Delta takes great pride in the work they do and the safety of their customers. Every year thousands of dollars are spent to improve the service provided. Delta Airlines takes great pride in giving back to the community through charitable donations, fund raisers, volunteering, and involving themselves in social activities. Over time Delta has spent thousands providing computers, books, and other educational learning tools to several institutions. Delta knowing that our youth of today will soon be our future leaders of tomorrow helps to keep children involved in math and science by providing educational fun for after school activities.

Delta also provides donations every year to several different hospital and research facilities to help prevent deadly diseases and find cures to save those who are fighting for their lives.

Delta strives in helping to support media arts, dance, theatre, and other community projects based around culture. They feel as though it's important for children and adults to have a positive perspective on the culture from our past and future. They promote appreciation for the world around us today.
