Introduction
There are a number of different ways for people to amuse themselves in today's world and of course entertainment movies are a big part of that. When a person is interested in a specific genre of movie, chances are you can tell a lot about that person by the interest that they have in said movie. Take anime movies for example. An anime movie is a Japanese animated movie that is based around a plotline in much the same way that live Hollywood movies are. The biggest difference has to do with the actual animation itself and vis-à-vis the different animation styles between Japan and the United States, it is definitely apparent that the Japanese style is quite different and distinct.
Popularity Base
The popularity base of Anime is hard to pin down simply because there are so many different groups of people that enjoy watching Anime Movies. The thing that can be said most accurately about it is perhaps that it tends to be the younger population. People that are in their 20s and 30s tend to be the people that really enjoy watching anime and when you consider what a bunch of different people in those age brackets tend to be interested in (electronics, advanced technology etc.) you can see that there is a definite correlation between interest in anime and interest in a number of modern topics. Of course, cause and effect is not clear or even established in that case.
Characteristics
The characteristics of anime movies are difficult to pin down in a general sense, but there are some underlying principles that people can look at when they think about or discuss anime movies. The first one of those characteristics is animation. The specific genre of anime requires specifically that anime movies be animated and if that is not in place, then it isn't an anime movie; simple as that. In addition to that, complicated plotlines are common in a lot of anime movies and plotlines that have a lot of fantasy elements to them will also appear quite commonly as well.
Relative Pricing
The relative pricing of anime movies is actually more on the expensive side when you compare them to a lot of other mainstream movies. The reason for this is two-fold; firstly that anime movies tend to be more expensive to produce because of the animation timescales and secondly that there are less people interested in them, so the creators have to charge more in order to make a profit.
