2008 Chrysler Firepower

Car manufacturers name prototypes and new cars after something it may resemble. The 2008 Chrysler Firepower is a very well named car that stays true to its name. The Chrysler Firepower is one of the more powerful coupe modeled cars coming out in 2008, and the looks are astonishing.

The design of the Firepower is undeniable; it looks amazing. A unique grill and hood make the car standout over the competition. The main body is fairly thin, and then widens at the back. This creates a very unique look, somewhat like the corvette or Dodge Viper. Slanted headlights give the impression of speed, and the chrome detailing looks sophisticated. The Firepower is a step above the normal coupe, as the design is flawless- and sure to turn heads.

When it comes to performance, the Chrysler Firepower delivers. The engine is an 8 cylinder with a 6.1 liter hemi. With that kind of “firepower”, going 0 to 60 miles per hour takes only a little over four seconds. For a little more performance, an auto-stick feature was implemented. This lets drivers drive an automatic transmission, yet enables them to optionally shift gears manually. This turns the normal automatic transmission into a hybrid transmission- perfect for both fuel economy and performance, depending on which of the two is needed.

The interior of the Firepower is sure to please, just like the performance. The interior is custom designed and fitted. The interior features chrome and what appears to be vinyl. Specially designed gauges and dashboard components line the driver's side. The interior has a vintage feel, but still retains newer-aged design and technology, which makes the Firepower's interior very unique. In the cockpit of the Firepower, it very well feels like one is piloting a spacecraft and a vintage model car combined.

Sadly, the name Firepower may not be the actual name of the car just yet. Chrysler has named the car Firepower, only to find out that they do not own the rights to the name. It is uncertain as to whether Chrysler will think up a new name, or pay a fee for using the Firepower's name. This could lead to some confusion among buyers, so it is speculated Chrysler will be paying for the name. When each of these cars are estimated at $200,000 each, it is likely Chrysler can afford it.

The 2008 Chrysler Firepower is a force to be reckoned with. It is considered to be a performance car, and the price reflects this. This car is obviously not suitable for the everyday driver or family. For those who can afford the almost quarter-of-a-million price tag, the Firepower will no doubt please even the toughest customers. Sophisticated design, interior, and “firepower” make this quite a treat to own.
